Introductory APR

First of all, the Annual Percentage Rate or APR is demonstrated as an interest rate based on a calculation of fees plus the total interest paid during a loan term.

Also, it is divided by the principal – or loan amount – and divided by the total number of days of a loan. Then, it is multiplied by one year.

In other simple words, the calculation considers a periodic interest rate multiplied by the number of periods when it was applied.

Since APR is a yearly rate charged in case of loans, credit card issuers charge it, too.

They can charge APR as a fixed or a variable rate, and they can charge it for purchases, balance transfers, and/or cash advances.

Basically, let’s suppose you violate any term or condition regarding the cardholder agreement or make a late payment, issuers will charge expensive penalty APRs.

That’s where introductory APR offers come in.

Many cards provide excellent lower APRs during a period of time after you open an account. Maybe, it would be great for you to consider that, especially if you are trying to re-establish or build a good financial path.
