The Citi® Double Cash Card is great because it doesn’t charge you an annual fee. That is already something to consider. But, you can also count on the reward program it offers.

How does the Citi® Double Cash Card work?

The Citi® Double Cash card features a unique reward program, which is 2% cashback: 1% on all purchases and 1% when paying the credit card bill, with no limit or category restrictions. To earn cash back, pay at least the minimum due on time.

Since March 2022, all cash back rewards have been presented to cardmembers as Citi® ThankYou points. For clients who enjoy flexibility, the Citi® ThankYou points program allows cardholders to transfer points in various ways. You can redeem the cashback as a direct deposit, statement credit, gift cards and more.

In addition, this Mastercard doesn’t charge an annual fee. And, it provides convenience and protection as you use it.

On the other hand, it charges 3% as a foreign transaction fee and 3% or $5 on each balance transfer, whichever is greater.

With this Citi® credit card, you can earn cash back while buying the things you want and while paying for them, with no restrictions. Note, though, that your rewards need to reach $25 to redeem or $1 through the ThankYou points.

Plus, it offers 24/7 customer service, contactless payment, and accessibility through connection to Digital Wallets.

Also, it is a Mastercard, which means you can enjoy traveling abroad, making sure that your card is accepted in most places.

But, it charges a 3% fee as a foreign transaction fee. And, it charges balance transfers fee, as well.

However, the Citi® Double Cash features protection against fraud and theft. Besides that, it features Citi Entertainment, which is special access to exclusive events and experiences.

  • To earn cash back, pay at least the minimum due on time.
  • Balance Transfer Only Offer: 0% intro APR on Balance Transfers for 18 months. After that, the variable APR will be 18.74% – 28.74%, based on your creditworthiness.

Cons

  • 3% foreign transaction fee
  • There is an intro balance transfer fee of 3% of each transfer (minimum $5) completed within the first 4 months of account opening. After that, your fee will be 5% of each transfer (minimum $5).
  • It requires good-excellent credit score.
  • Balance Transfers do not earn cash back. Intro APR does not apply to purchases.
  • If you transfer a balance, interest will be charged on your purchases unless you pay your entire balance (including balance transfers) by the due date each month.
