How does the PC Financial® World Elite Mastercard® credit card work?

The President’s Choice Financial® World Elite is a credit card full of rewards. But this is not the only benefit of it. If you search for a card with no annual fee, you may have just found one.

But let’s get started with the points you can earn by holding the card in your wallet.

Firstly, this Mastercard® is partnered with some brands and stores, and you can be rewarded by purchasing at them, as follows:

  • 45 points for each dollar spent at Shoppers Drug Mart;
  • 30 points for each dollar spent on eligible grocery stores like Loblaws and Real Canadian Superstore;
  • At least 30 points per liter spent at Esso Mobil;
  • 30 points per dollar with PC Travel;
  • 10 points per dollar spent on all other purchases.

Secondly, it charges a standard APR of 20.97% on purchases and 22.97% on cash advances. But it offers a promotional sign-up bônus of 0.97% APR on balance transfers for six months, plus 21 days of interest-free on new purchases.

And all of that with no annual fee.

As you can see, the reward program is pretty good. And 10,000 points equals $10 worth of free products on eligible stores. However, note that the limit for redemption is 10,000 PC Optimum points.

In addition, the card offers some insurances and services, such as Travel and Car Rental Collision Insurance, ID Theft Assistance, and 24/7 Concierge service.

On the contrary, the downside of it is the requirements for the application. You have to present a minimum personal income of $80,000/year or a minimum household income of $150,000/year.
